Start of filming
We have arranged for my group to start filming on the following weekend. For our first filming session feel it is important that we establish the best way to film in the location we have chosen. the environments of the locations we have chosen vary, meaning that some shots are easier to film in one location than the other. for example a location we plan on filing on is on grass, this would normally not be too much of an issue but due to recent weather the field has become muddy . Due to the conditions of the field we are not able to walk easily and this causes health and safety risks, also another concern of mine is to do with the equipment. the terrain does not make it easy for us to setup the tripod, and the condition of the field leaves the framing of the shot to be uneven. Transporting the equipment is also difficult.

Student video analysis
This music video is as energetic and catchy as the song that goes with it. I think this music video is very good. They have put in a lot of thought when thinking of the how the video can relate to the song. The video goes along with the beat of the song and a lot of the scenes go along with the video.

Filming techniques
We have looked at different techniques to make filming the video more intreseting. This is to try and make our video more interesting. We have made a small budget that we plan to use on the film to be able to buy ,and make props. We have put in hours of research looking into making equipment that we may need to film some of the shot that we have planned, due to lack of money compared to a professional music videos. We plan on using the video tutorial above to film a specific shot of our video. This video make a no budget good effect buy modifying the tripod. We plan on using the tripod like this to film the shot of our main character getting up from a park bench.
This video gives and easy and quick example of how we can turn our tripod into a steadicam. This will be needed as a main segment of our video will be filming our main character from the front which means we will need to be able to film a steady shot of him.

Resources for our video
For the the music video shoot the resources we plan on using are a number of costumes, camera and filming techniques. We have chosen a selection of clothing that our singer will be wearing during the film shoot, we have also contacted extras that will helping with scenes going on with the background of the video.
Outline of idea for Music video
The overall idea of the video has come down to a tracking shot of the main singer in the video. Due to the songs tempo and steady rhythm we believe that the video works really well with just a tracking shot of the main character, having it filmed any other way we believe would not match the beat of the music video and would make things a lot more complicated. The idea for the video is a journey that our singer is taking, this is similar to the original music video for our song. Our singer is in a public area sitting on a bench, when he gets up he is attacked and knocked unconscious . We plan on him getting up and starting to walk home. The video takes place in his head and the real world. We plan on filming some of his journey home, side wards on. We then plan on projecting the video on to a blank sheet and have our singer in front pretending to walk as if he were actually there, when the viewer is able to tell the obvious truth. from this we plan on switching to a shot of the our singer in the real world on location, filmed from front on looking dazed and confused. During this "reality scene" we plan on having things going on in the background that are relevant to the songs lyrics. The video come to a climactic ending with the main singer being killed. The main idea for the video is that when the singer is knocked unconscious he sinks into his own world in his head, and that there is a layer of separation between and latency between him in the real world and his head.
Audience research result
From the various number of research we have done to get an insight into what makes a good music, we have found out a number of interesting things. From the results of our survey we have found that a number of people are more into indie than genres such as Rap or RNB. From these results we can see that making a music video for an indie song will probably attract more views. The survey also taught us that people discover most of their music videos from sites such as Youtube. Using social networking sites, including Youtube will spread our music video more than an other medium. Another form of research we conducted was the Vox pop. The fox pop's question of focus was "what is you favorite music video and why?". Our answers included that people liked music videos to be open, in terms of their ideas. People liked music videos that were unusual or strange, they said that they liked the video to be visually interesting. This has influenced to really expand our thoughts and ideas. It has also put us in the frame of mind that any idea that we come up with can be made to work.

Student Digipak Analysis
This group design used a varied number of styles on their digipack. The feel of the digipak gives you a clear indication of what genre of music the band is about(which is pop). The used of doodle outlines with colourful text in between is a astatically appealing choice, it draws your eye. the back of the digipack is also well done, in a stylish and professional way, again the use of colour is bold and stands out. this can be seen through out the images and art on the digipak. the back does a good job of its choice of font and the layout. The
Analysis of my 3 favourite music video
The music video for "Battles-Tonto" is one of my favourite music video because the songs setting is really interesting, at the begining of the video you do not where they are. Its then revealed to be in the woods, while being ilumniated by light setting. The music video is good in the fact that the idea of the video
The music video for the song "race in" by Battles is another one of ,y favourite videos. Like the last video i believe that it stands out and does something new. The song takes place in a glass cube, where the band is playing their instruments. There choice of clothing are casual and the lighting on the cube gives it a stylised effect.

His face suggest a serious tone to the album along with the torn pieces of paper which may suggest that album has something to with the events of the artists past.
I think this album cover works particularly well for a Hip Hop artist...not finished

lip syncing practice- Thou shall always kill
after doing the preliminary task for lip syncing we wanted to practice lip syncing to our own chosen song. We filmed Jack reading the lyrics from out of the view of the camera while the song played in the background. Unlike the previous task we did not have jack singing out loud because we wanted to see if jack suited the voice and he could preform, we did not film the whole song as this was just to practice. The practice went well and my group is confident that the lip syncing for the video will go well as well.

Emil got his job working on music videos for artists like ed sheeran and paloma faith from OB management. OB management work as agents for video directors, they introduce directors to artists and production companies that suit their particular style of filming.
One of Ed Sheeran's first videos was directed by Emil Nava, the video cost £35,000 to film. The video however did not feature Ed in the video allot, because the production company did not like Ed's image at the time. Due to this the video features someone else signing the lyrics to the video, which took care of who would feature in the video and took care of lip syncing.

Purpose of a music video
there are many purposes to a music vidoe, those purpsoes are. A music vidoeo is ment to advertise the song, videos that have music videos will more lickley sell more becuase people rememeber the music vidoe of a song along with the actual song it slef. A music vidoe should compliment the music. Song that have not done so well in the charts have improved their position because they have a good music vidoe. Another purpose a music video has is to change the look of an artists, A video that does his is the the music video for christina aguilaras-"dirrty", it transformed her pervioud inoccent image in to her current image. she went form being a member of the mickey mouse club to be more explcit and adult.

Jamie thraves case study
Jamie Thraves is a director from Romford who started directing short films when attending university at Hull, he also started to make music videos. Later on in his career he started to push a number of ideas for films and music videos on big studios, in which he constantly got rejected. He eventually used one of his award winning video as a calling card, which got his foot in the door. He was hired by Factory Films. He showed Factory films three of his music videos, each film costing £5000 each

when Jamie thraves caught his big break he went on to direct music videos for coldplay and radio head.
his video for Coldaplay was award winning and boosted Coldplays music career. Jamie hate Coldplays music but managed to film their best video. the video was shot in reverse with the video rewinding back to the scene of a car accident, through this video the lead singer is singing forwards. the concept of the video came to jamie when he read the line of the song which says "back to the start" this one line of lyric influenced the whole video.
the video cost £200,000 to film and was filmed in three days. months before the actually filming of the video the lead singer had to learn to sing the song backwards. this was because the lyrics had to be sung phonetically right. if the singing was filmed backwards and then reversed it would not look the same and natural.

Singing a duet
In media we were give the task of practicing lip syncing. For the task we had to film a duet of two people singing on camera. We had to lip sing to the"Don't go breaking my heart". We were told to sing out loud with the song playing, singing along with the song would help when syncing up the song with the music when editing it. we took one two long indiviual shots of us singing the song all the way through, and we took one long shot of us singing together.

planning for music video
recently i met up with my music video partner to discuss ideas for a music video for the song "thou shall always kill". we found that the actual music video for the song was quite good and fit the song well. The only problem we face was thinking of a new ideas for the video. the majority of ideas that we thought of were very similar to the video.

Scroobius pip songs
Now that we have received conformation from scroobious pip, we can start looking through his songs to choose which one we can create a video for and which will prove difficult or easy
This is Scroobious Pip and Dan le sac's song sick tonight. This song choice we find interesting, we like the lyrics and the beat of the song and are considering making this the song we choose for our music video. Our issue with this song however, is that the song at certain parts speeds up, and this makes the song difficult to follow, this especially effects us we will have learn and be able to lip sync the lyrics.
This is Scroobius pip's induction pieces. we like that this song has a serious tone, and we imagine that the video we could make for this song would be a good one. Also we find that it is easier to follow the lyrics of the song
This is scroobius pip vs dan le sac"Though shall always kill" the song is much slower paced and kinda catchy. we like the song and think its clever. our only problem with this song is that its a bit simple and straight forward, we are struggling to think of a ideas for this song and having seen the music video for the song we find our selves thinking of similar ideas, which is not good.

Editing to the beat
We were given the task of editing to the beat. We were given a song and various clips of people dancing and rapping, which we had to edit together to make sure that clips of the video would go along with the music chosen. the task proved to be a bit difficult as editing and cutting clips together was difficult when trying to match it up with a drum beat in the back ground, other than fiddling with and moving around little clips you didn't want or need i was happy with the end result.
